Orkan Telhan's research focuses on bridging theories of design and computation with artificial life and synthetic biology research.Through a series of case studies pursued in the design of smell and novel flavors, the talk will discuss the epistemic origins of taste and reflect on the cultural implications of designed chemistries and
biologies that present themselves as living, semi-living, and life-like artifacts.
